Allow this duo of Carlton University students to school you on the rhythmic, powerful force that is Inuit throat singing. Alexia Galloway-Alainga was born and raised in Iqaluit, where she began throat singing at the age of 5 or 6. Kirsten Ungungai-Kownak was also born and raised in Iqaluit. The Anthropology and Political Science major has been practicing the art of throat singing since age 11. Together, they are Anuri Arnait.
