Dana Harris is a first-time author and biologist born and raised in Yellowknife, Northwest Territories. Now a parent of two, she has spent countless hours reading to her children and was inspired to share stories drawn from her own life learning about the animals that call the tundra and taiga home. Maww! Maww! is rooted in Dana’s real-life experiences observing northern wildlife and her deep love for the land and its unique creatures. Through her stories, she blends scientific-minded observations with warm, beautiful imagery, hoping to spark curiosity and care for the natural world. Dana is especially passionate about giving children the chance to see more northern animals, like Lenny the Muskox, represented in the books they read.
